Visiting Vernal

We went and visited my family in Vernal the day after Christmas. My sister, Cassy, was visiting from Kansas.  I think everyone was there except Nichole.  Grandma and Grandpa gave each of the kids a new fleece blanket.
They opened their gifts on the count of three.
 Ian got a baseball blanket.
Grandma found fleece with squirrels on it for Morgan! She was beyond excited about it!
Zander's blanket was Angry Birds, Micah's blanket was Spiderman, Eli's blanket was Robots, and Lindey got cute little Monkey's. They all loved them. Thanks, Grandma!
We also had a great time visiting everyone.  We went swimming at the Rec Center (a favorite of all the kids) and played games and visited.

Pumpkin Patch

My friend, Kristen, brought me some pumpkins and gourds for my porch.  There were some cool ones and my mom (who had come to stay a week with me after my surgery) asked her where she got them.  My friend, Heather, also called and asked where I had gotten my cool pumpkins on my porch.  I told her Kristen brought them over. Heather called Kristen to find out, and the next thing I know, Kristen is calling me and asking if we wanted to go out to the Banasky pumpkin patch to get pumpkins and gourds with their family and Heather's family for family home evening. I told her yes--my mom was so excited! Lol  Off we went!
Ian headed off in search of the perfect pumpkin.
Kristen and Scott Robertson and their son, Kollin  (in the purple) on the hunt for some fun pumpkins with my boys.
My mom and I before venturing into the patch to find treasures of our own.
Morgan with a white pumpkin.  I've seen some fun things done on Pinterest with white pumpkins--too bad I wasn't feeling better! :)
Eli in the pumpkin patch.  He was so fun to watch.  He was definitely searching for his perfect pumpkin.
Grandma and Lindey searching for pumpkins.
Zander was feeling pretty independent and was able to help cut pumpkins for others with a pair of tree trimmers.
A fun gourd that found a new home on our front porch.
Eli finally found his perfect pumpkin.  He was so excited!
Zander with another cool gourd.  He slung it over his shoulder and carried it to the car.
Brother Robertson grabbed a melon out of the field and cracked it open for the kids to have a snack.  It was sure tasty!

Here is our haul of pumpkins and gourds in the back of the trooper.  Holy cow! I will say that some of these are Grandma's and will be going home to Vernal with her.
Our porch sure looked festive this year!  If I had been feeling better I probably would have tried to organize them in some fashion, but as it was, the kids did the decorating. :)  They moved them around regularly and we had to remind them a few times to keep a walk-way up the steps to the front door!
Micah with his pumpkin.
These were the ones that Grandma Millett picked out to take home.  She said that Grandpa was going to kill her when he came to pick her up!  There were just so many cool ones she couldn't leave any of them in the patch!  Her porch turned out cool--she has an old wheelbarrow that she filled and had a sign made out of old wood that said "give thanks".  (She sent me a picture on my phone--if I knew how to get it onto here I would have uploaded it!)
Visiting after unloading the loot.  Thanks so much Kristin for taking us pumpkin picking in the patch!  My mom had never done that before and we had a great time! A perfect activity for family home evening. :) October 7th, 2013

Scrapbook USA 2013

March 22nd, I met up with my mom again for Scrapbook USA.  Those in charge are changing when they hold the show.  They are going from twice a year, to once a year.  We knew if we didn't attend we wouldn't be able to go until next March.  A little extra incentive to make it happen. :) Morgan was out of school, so we made it a girl's weekend and drug Lindey along with us.  I love spending time with my Mom doing something we both love.

Morgan is a fun little travel companion.  We have some good chats. She also loves the shopping part, and finding things she can scrapbook with as well.  She is definantly my daughter.  She reminds me a lot of myself when I was younger. :)   Lindey was well behaved again this time too!  Especially good since she was having major allergies and couldn't hardly breathe!  Couldn't have asked for a better time with my girls.

Since I forgot to take a picture of my mom and I last time we got together for Scrapbook USA, I made sure we got one this time. :)
We were also able to see my friend, Kelly and her family this go-around.  She was my best friend when we lived in Pleasant Grove and Orem.  I love that we can pick up as if we still lived close to each other and talk all the time.  Lindey was taken with Kelly's oldest daughter, Tiana.  She made a good little friend! :)
My friend Kelly with Lindey. :)
I don't think Kelly and I have had our picture taken together since I was living in Pleasant Grove. (That's been 10+ years!) I needed a new one to update my friends board in my scrapbook room. It turned out great!  I love this girl!
We spent the night at my Aunt Roberta and Uncle Keith's house.  Lindey was having a hard time settling down.  This is how I found them when I came out of the bathroom from getting ready for bed.  Grandma was reading them stories. :)  What a great Grandma.  I asked her where she got the book and she said, I just had it in my room.  So cute!
We spent Saturday doing some shopping around Utah County.  It was a fun weekend.  Thanks for meeting up with us Mom!  I love you! Until next year...

Millett Family Christmas Party

I had my yearly check up with my doctor, Dr. Kimball, on the 14th. Everything is looking good. I'm still healing, have lost some weight, which is helping me feel better, and really didn't have any complaints. He did write me a prescription for some cold sore medicine. Those buggers come on fast, and have gotten a lot worse since I was sick. I used to get one, maybe two a year, and Avbreva would take care of them within 5 days. Lately, I've been getting one that turns into 6 or 7 in the same area every other month, and they last for about 10 days and are very painful, and often come back for round 2 a day or twoafter I get them healed. I'm hoping this works. Dr. Kimball wanted to have my bloodwork checked again. Where I've lost 50 pounds since I saw him last year, he wanted to check on my cholesterol to see if it had gone down any (it was at 162 last year, which isn't horrible--above 200 is considered high), and check my thyroid since my sister, Nichole had thyroid cancer a few months ago. (All my levels came back in the normal range, and my cholesterol was down 11 points! Yea!)
Since my Grandma's family Christmas party was the next day, we stayed the night with our friends, Colter and Becky in Spanish Fork.
We did a little service project when we first got there by helping Uncle David and Aunt Paula clean their ward building (the party was held there). The other family that was suppose to clean with them was out of town. Everyone just visited until lunch at 1:00pm. Those that were there were Grandma, Vicki (my dad's sister who lives with Grandma), Aunt Jana (Dad's sister) and Uncle Steve and their kids--Samantha and Max, Uncle Wayne (Dad's brother) and Aunt Julie and one of their daughters--Elise, My Mom and Dad, our family, my brother, Garrett and his wife--Kate, my sister, Jennie and her family--John, Rian, Gunner, and Harley, and my cousin Michael and his family. It's sad to say that I don't know him that well. His parents (my dad's brother) live in Wisconsin, so they didn't come to very many things growing up, which is understandable. I think his wife is Alicia and they have twin girls that were born prematurely--right before I had Lindey, so that would make them almost 2 and a new baby brother who is a couple of months old.
My dad was put in charge of music for the party, so he promptly called me and put me in charge of music. Thanks, Dad. :)  John had Boom Whackers at school, so we decided to take those and play Name that Tune with Christmas Carols.  It was quite fun.  Grandma even got in on the act. :)

It was fun to visit and see everyone.  I haven't been to one of Grandma's Christmas parties for a few years.  I'm so glad we went!
Before leaving, we took a family picture with Grandma.  We love you! :)

Great Grandma and Lindey

On our way home from John's graduation, we stopped in Draper to visit with my Grandma Millett.  She is my only living grandparent so I wanted to get some pictures of Lindey with her great grandma.  Lindey was so cute with her.  I kept trying to get Lindey's head turned so she would be looking at the camera, but she kept turning her head to look back at Grandma.  It was like she was telling her hello from Grandpa. :) So cute!!
We took a four generation photo while we were there.  (Mom and Dad came to visit Grandma as well.)  Grandma didn't want to look at the camera.  She didn't think she looked very good. :)  She has had problems with her eye.  You're still cute Grandma! I love you!

Field Trip

While Grandma was visiting she wanted to go see our sculpture here in town.  It was really windy, so it was a quick trip, but she can say she's been there!
