24th of July

Oops!  Out of order.
For the 24th of July, our ward had a celebration at the park.  We had a barbeque, and then games were planned for the kids and a short program after that.  The kids loved participating in the games.  It was fun to watch them wagon race.  One of my piano students--Lindsey, loves to play with our kids.  She pulled Eli in this race.
Morgan and Zander were racing Lily and Talynn--I just happened to catch Talynn as she was being dumped out! lol
Our neighbor, Sarah, caught this picture of our family getting ready for the many legged race. lol  Each family had to tie up--I think we were by far the biggest family with 9 of us.  We were allowed to hold anyone 3 years old or younger. (And we added Talynn to our herd.)  We tried to get Micah and Zander to stand on our feet, but they didn't listen.  We were just getting the hang of it when Ian went down.  It was all over after that!  It was quite fun. :)
Happy Pioneer Day!

Christmas Nativity

Our ward did a Bethlehem night for the second year in a row as our ward party before Christmas.  The primary puts on a program about the nativity.  This year Morgan played Mary.  She was so excited to get this part!  Kollin, one of my piano students and son of my good friend, played Joseph.
Ian got the part of King Herod.  We had to hurridly throw on his costume (we weren't aware they were doing the program before dinner), so, he wasn't covered on his backside very well--oops!  Zander was a wise man.  He wanted a headress on under his crown.  He's so cute!
Micah was a shepherd this year again.  He was excited he got to carry his staff, but got a little bored sitting during the telling of the story between songs. :)  Glad he didn't take anyone out with it! lol
Thanks Jenni for sending me these pictures!  We were a little too far in the back for John's i-Pod to get much detail. :)

Ward Activity

We had a ward activity on Wednesday. It was a dutch oven dinner and fireside at the Green River State Park. It was so yummy! Dutch oven potatoes, hamburger/potatoe/onions/and carrots, homemade scones, and pot luck salads. The fireside was given by Jeff and Karen Acerson. (His parents still live in our ward.) They just returned serving as a mission president in Rome, Italy. They had 3 children serving while they were! Two in different Italy missions, and one in Japan. They joked that no one was homesick because no one was at home! They live in Lindon, Ut. (What our kids allowed us to listen to was wonderful. :)

Jeff and Karen Acerson who gave the fireside.

Two of my handsome guys.
John got a hold of the camera--proof I was there. :)
Before we left the kids wanted to go down to the boat ramp to skip rocks and throw sticks in the water.

It was a nice evening and even nicer to get out of the house. And, I was able to fulfill part of my calling! (Taking pictures for the ward newsletter.)
