Swimming

After we went to Lagoon, all the kids were at the Hotel with us.  John had one more day of his UPPAC trial, so I was left with the kids.  I decided to be brave and take all 6 of them swimming that morning before we checked out of the hotel.  They loved it!  It was a lot of fun.  Zander loved the hot tub. (Not surprising since he will sit in our 80+ degree home with a blanket on to watch TV.)

 Morgan and Ian were really good helpers for me with the little boys.  I was able to just hold Lindey and play in the water with her without really worrying about the boys.

 It was shady in the pool area, and they had a hose filling it up, so it was pretty chilly, but we had a great time anyways!

At the Pool

John has a UPPAC trial this week, so we are staying at the Red Lion in Salt Lake City.  We have stayed here many times before, but haven't been swimming.  We took advantage of that this time.  They have an outdoor pool, so it's either been too cold to be open, or we get to the hotel too late at night.  The boys were soooooo excited! Last night we took them down to the pool. They immediately picked out their lounge chairs.

The boys got right in the water.  This is the first time they have worn the life jackets.  It took them a bit to figure out how to keep their heads out of the water and stay afloat. 

I knew I was going to take the kids swimming again the next morning while John was at UPPAC, so I knew watching them I couldn't do it by myself without teaching them a few survival skills.  I taught them to float on their backs and call for me if they got in trouble.  I also taught them to kick their feet so they could move around without just floundering in the water.  Well, at least I tried.  I don't know if any of it got through the excitement of swimming.

I got all the kids dressed in their swim attire after lunch today.  We made our way down the elevator and all the way through the hotel to the pool, and there was a sign on the door that said the Pool and Spa were closed.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  I asked at the front desk how long it would be closed, and they said all day for maintenance. Grrr!!  Now I get to stay in the Hotel room all day with three energetic children, no car to leave, and nothing to do with our time.  The TV can only entertain for so long....awesome.  Guess we'll just have to get creative!

Hotel Stay

With John on the UPPAC Comission, it comes with the perk of a hotel stay.  Our kids love this!  Micah gets so excited!  John's meeting this month was the morning of November 8th, so we went up the night before.  John took a couple pictures of the kids to prove that we were there. :)

We stay at the Red Lion in Salt Lake City.  They have little walk-out balconies that Eli loves.  He was scared to death the first time we stayed here and wouldn't do much more than poke his head out the sliding glass door.  By the end of that stay he was taking all our shoes and other items outside and lining them up on the balcony.  This month he was eating an Oreo cookie, and was licking the frosting off one side and had the other in his hand.  He accidentally dropped it off the balcony and was so sad that his cookie fell.  We were on the 11th floor, and could hardley make it out way down there.  He wanted us to go get it. Lol
