Easter 2013

As Grandma Millett always does, she sent the kids a little something for this holiday.  It came a few days before Easter, and the kids were excited about their Bunny Bait.  It was a delicious!
The kids are anxiously awaiting to see what is in their baskets.
Eli was excited about everything in his basket.  He was jumping up and down with each new thing.
Morgan checking out her loot.
Ian reading the jokes on his pen. He was pretty excited about his neck pillow.
More Eli excitement!  Sixlets!! Wahoo!!
Zander received a grass head.  He had one from school earlier in the year and loved it.
Micah got some playdough and was super pleased.

Lindey wasn't quite sure what to think about Easter.  She did enjoy the candy--whether it was out of her basket or not. lol
That night we did our annual Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt.  The is becoming something the kids look forward to.  We have fun with it, and let the kids hide the eggs for us to hunt as well.
The kids love counting the eggs to see if they have all been found.  (We love that it doesn't add more treats in the eggs, and its just hunting the eggs for the fun of it!)
Happy Hunting and Happy Easter!

Grandma's Birthday/Easter Party

John's mother's birthday is in April, so the entire family gets together to celebrate.  Grandma always has way too much planned to spoil the kids.  They don't seem to mind. :)  The first thing we did was have an Easter Egg hunt.  It was pretty cool and quite windy, but the kids enjoyed it anyways.

Grandma's next activity was the pool hunt.  She hid all sorts of treasures in shredded paper.  This is the second year she has done this, and it's a big hit with the kids.

We took a break after the pool hunt to go out to lunch/dinner for Mom's birthday.  We sang to her and she opened gifts, then headed to the West Winds.  After lunch, Grandma and Grandpa did a money hunt on the lawn.  (They threw out a bunch of quarters and nickles, and let the kids find them.)  Zander was the big winner in our family for this activity.  He picked up $4.95!  He was pretty excited. :)  The other kids were able to pick up two or three dollars themselves.

The final activity of the day was a monster hunt.  Grandma found these little dragons or lizards that were filled with Jelly beans, and when you pushed their sides in, their tongues would pop out.  The kids (and adults) had great fun with these!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Grandma's egg hunt

Grandma Hughes' annual egg hunt was held April 17th this year. I know what you're thinking-- Easter was over, but this was the weekend everyone could come. Grandma always spoils the kids rotten and their baskets were overflowing again this year-- She did not disappoint! She writes all the kids names on their eggs so that it is fair. Then she seperates the eggs by family, and we each get a section of yard to hide our kid's eggs in. All the kids are let loose at the same time. 13 of the grand kids were there this year. They had a blast hunting their eggs!
