Carving Pumpkins

On October 30th, we finally got around to carving pumpkins.  I helped the kids get their bottoms off and told them they had to clean the guts out of the inside.  It made me laugh how grossed out some of them were getting about it.

Morgan carved an Angry Bird this year.

Zander decided to carve a bat.
Micah carved a scared face.
I helped Eli carve his Vampire.  The other boys were able to carve their own this year with a safety knife (they were so excited!), but Eli is still young enough he needed help.  He loved pulling the guts out and did a relatively good job of doing it himself.
Ian came home from school a little later than everyone else, so he was mostly carving by himself.  He decided to carve Mario.
Here they are out on the porch.  John had the brilliant idea of putting large glowsticks inside the pumpkins so we would not have to keep a fire lit, and it was cool that they were lit up in different colors!  I think we will be trying that one again. :)
