I can't believe that my next update on Eli will be his first birthday! My how time flies! :) Eli is now 11 months old! He weighs 19.4 lbs. and is 28 inches long. He is a bundle of energy. A couple of weeks ago we installed child locks on all of our cleaning cupboards--Eli just won't stay out of them. When you find your child playing in a pile of Comet, more than once, it's never a good thing. John and I were laughing that after 5 children we finally had to put locks on the cabinets.
He is nearly weaned (Yeah!) He only nurses before bed now. Not at nap time, or even in the middle of the night. I am very greatful for that. :) He recently learned how to blow zerbits (sp?) on our arms/legs and thinks he is pretty funny. He also can buzz his lips and does that often--drooling everywhere. He is so happy-go-lucky, and you just can't help smiling when in his presence. Our little boy is growing up! What a cutie he is! :) After re-reading this post I'm not making myself out to be a very good parent--running into walls and playing in comet. I promise I watch my kids! LOL This video is of Eli walking a few steps. He's pretty proud of himself!
Eli also began walking last Wednesday! I had a banana (which he loves) and asked him if he wanted a bite. He looked at me, let go of the coffee table, and took four steps to me! In the last week he has gotten braver and tries to walk on his own more often. It won't be long before he is running everywhere! His newest venture when crawling is that he puts his head down and just goes for it. I don't know if he thinks it makes him faster (he's pretty fast), or just does it when he gets excited, but he's running into the furniture and walls. It's kind of funny **parental disclaimer** he never hurts himself, just that whole, out of site, out of mind concept.
