Scouts

We attended a Court of Honor for Ian on February 22, 2015.  He received 5 badges!  Way to go, bud!

These badges were started in Green River, and then finished here, after we moved.
Cooking, Emergency Preparedness, Camping and Personal Fitness.
He also earned his Geo cashing badge.
Proud of you, Ian!  Keep it up and you'll have your Eagle in no time!

Honors Society

Ian was inducted into the National Honors Society this year.  (He should have been in during 7th grade, but it was not offered in Green River. Another reason on the plus side of moving.)
The ceremony was held on October 22, 2014.
Mrs. Barnett, and Mrs. Roberts are the advisors.
After a short program the kids were sworn in.

Mr. Mecham is the principal at the Jr. High School. He shook hands with all the kids after they received their certificate.

Caught his eye! LOL

I told him this one looked like he was trying to light his certificate on fire!  ha ha

So proud of you, Ian!  You are an awesome young man.  You can do anything you put your mind to.  Keep up your grades and the good work!  Love you, son. :)

1st Day of School

Beginning a new school year in a new place is kind of scary!  These kids were excited anyway.
Zander is going into 4th grade.  His teacher will be Mrs. Alton.

He found this shirt when we were shopping for school clothes and fell in love with it.  It's no wonder that he is our child with a huge sweet tooth!  He'd eat candy for every meal if we'd let him. :)  He was also very excited to find a BYU backpack.  Grandma Hughes has rubbed off on him a little!
Morgan is excited to be going into 6th grade and has her daddy for her teacher, Mr. Hughes.

John is also beginning in a new classroom this year.  He will be the 6th grade teacher at Cottonwood Elementary in Orangeville.
Micah is going into the 2nd grade.  His teacher is Mrs. Atwood.  (It's her first year as a teacher!)

Ian is going into the 9th grade.  He will be going to San Rafael Jr. High in Ferron.  We are excited that he will get one year in Jr. High before going to the high school over here.

August 18th, 2014.

Eli began Kindergarten the next week on August 24th.  He was kind of bummed he didn't get to go to school with Dad on their first day, but was so excited to be one of the big kids that went to school.

Ian's Birthday

We celebrated Ian's birthday in Green River.  That was his one wish, was to go back and spend it with his friend.  The Robertson's graciously hosted the party at their house.  Man, we love those guys!
Ian wanted a red velvet cake, so we had to make it a University of Utah cake.
Ian and Kollin are Ute fans. Go Utes!

Kristin decorated their back porch for the party.  See?? She is totally awesome!!
We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs...well, Scott and Kristin did. :)

The gift table.
We went inside to open up the gifts.  It was getting pretty windy out there!
Ian was excited to get to wear the t-shirts he picked out a few weeks before.
He's been wanting a Utah University hat for a while.  He was pretty excited!
We got him a couple of new Disney Infinity characters for his game.
Cards from Grandma(s).
Something tells me he was the most excited about Kollin's gift to him.  New basketball shorts, a bag and a flashlight. :)
Our sad little cake after it was accidentally dropped.  Luckily, it was mostly the edges that were ruined and we were able to salvage it.

Making a wish...
...and blowing out the candles.
Sure do love you buddy.  Hope you had a great birthday!  I'm glad you have picked such great friends who are willing to go above and beyond to spoil you rotten!
