Morgan's Garden
Morgan is always making pretend gardens or flowerbeds in the backyard. She got pretty fancy last Saturday and made signs for all the spots out of scotch tape, sticks and paper. She's pretty creative!
We told her that we will let her plant some flowers by the playhouse this year and see if she can keep them alive. I don't have any doubt that they will do well if she tends them like she tends her pretend gardens. :) Love you chickaroo!

Picking Pumpkins
After Bountiful Baskets this morning, John's parents took us to the pumpkin patch to get the kids a pumpkin. We always love doing this every year.
The pumpkins were really big this year! The kids could barely lift them!
Zander tried to lift his pumpkin, but just couldn't quite do it. He decided to wait by it until Dad could come carry it back to the car.
When the kids found the pumpkin they wanted, they sat on them to claim them as their own until Grandpa made it to them to cut it from the vine.

John and I decided to get pumpkins as well. I picked smaller ones partly to balance out all the huge ones the kids picked, and also so I would have some cute ones to leave as decorations through November. :) John found the biggest one, I think. When he lifted it up, there was this hole underneath it.
Pretty quick there were about 6 mice that darted out of the hole. He had found a mouse house!
After pumpkin picking, we ate lunch and then headed out back to harvest out garden. We picked tomatoes, bell peppers, dill and carrots. John found this funny little thing. Interesting, huh?
