Carving Pumpkins

The kids were so excited to carve pumpkins this year.  This is a Mom only activity, as Dad does not care for it.  Lol, I don't mind at all.  I think it is kind of fun to do.  I helped each of the kids find a pattern they were excited about, helped them cut the pumpkins open, and set them to scraping out the guts.
I thought Lindey would be grossed out by the slimy guts, but she wasn't!  She got right in there with the rest of the kids!

Eli wanted a scary face.
Ian set to work carving Boba Fett.
Zander and Micah wanted to cut their pumpkins themselves, but still required a bit of help from mom.
Eli's was the first one finished, so he decided he wanted to draw what his pumpkin looked like.  Silly kid. :)
Lindey picked Cinderella to carve.
And then helped out by drawing on her pumpkin.
Ian's Boba Fett.  Had a couple of oopsies, but they were easily fixed with some toothpicks.  Great job!

Morgan carved a Hello Kitty Witch.
Micah carved a Ninja Turtle--Micah-Angelo, of course!
Zander carved a scary ghost this year.  Great job doing most of the work yourself!
We sure had fun carving!  Glad the kids are getting a little more independent with this activity.  It makes it even more fun, and not so much of a chore for me. :) October 30, 2013
