The Hughes News: Lindey is Two!

I can't believe that our baby girl is two years old! It's been quite the journey. We love our Lindey Lu and are so glad she is part of our family. I re-covered this foam chair for her birthday. We had two of these-both Spiderman, and when one of them ripped, I knew just what I wanted to do with it. I found this cute pink minky fabric and knew it was the one when Lindey grabbed it and hugged the bolt in the store. It was perfect. It was the first present she opened and had to sit in it to open all her other presents. She wasn't too sure about opening gifts at first, but once she discovered there were things inside the paper for her she went to town! She loved all her gifts, even these new Sunday socks. She gave them a hug, set them down beside her and held out her hands for the next present.

Lindey has the best big sister ever! Morgan took a bib and embroidered "Happy Birthday" on it with 3 cupcakes. She is so thoughtful (and I think she really loves having a little sister around!).

Uncle Thomas and Aunt Shlisa picked out this cute little puppy for Lindey. It scared her to death when she went to take it out of the bag and it barked at her. It took a little coaxing to get her to touch the puppy. It was pretty funny to watch.

Ms. D knows Lindey well. She found a Peppa Pig DVD (Lindey's favorite cartoon). Lindey was in heaven! She kept saying, "It's Peppa Pig!"

We went simple with her cake this year--Purple two layer with a sprinkles number 2. It fits. She loved it, which was all that mattered.

Grandma and Grandpa Hughes were not able to be with us on Lindey's birthday. Grandpa had an Emery Telcom Board Meeting, so they brought her gifts over the next day. Lindey had to show Grandma her chair and sit in it again to open her present. They gave her some Disney princess board books, some captain crunch cereal to fill her snack container for the diaper bag at church, and a cute new dress to wear.
