Zander's 8th birthday

Zander turned 8 this year!  When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday dinner he told me, "Steak, Bacon, and Macaroni and Cheese with Hot Dogs."  He was quite surprised that I made all 3 of those things for him.  He thought he'd only get one of those items. Lol--made it worth it to hear him say, "You are really making all of it?? Wow!!"

Grandma and Grandpa Hughes came to our house to celebrate with presents, cake and ice cream. 

Uncle Jay and Aunt Paula were in town, so they were able to come for the festivities as well.  That was a special treat!

 Zander asked for a Plants vs. Zombies cake.  I was glad it would be an easy one to pull off since I was gone to the temple all day long.

He was super excited about it, and I think it turned out really cute!

After dinner was all cleaned up we began opening presents.  He doesn't look excited, does he??

Grandma and Grandpa Hughes gave him a remote control car.

I found him this car track set at a yard sale.  We have one that is similar to it, but they are not interchangeable--bummer!  I was hoping it would be. It is still fun to play with.

We also gave him a shirt and tie for his baptism.

Grandma and Granpa Hughes showed up later that night and let Zander open his present from them--a Ninjago lego set!  He loved this one!

Zander was especially impressed with Grandma's artwork on the front of their package.  :)

Grandma and Grandpa Millett also gave Zander a new sketch book.  He had mentioned that his old one was about out of pages, so he was excited to have a new blank one, full of possibilities!

Hope you had a great 8th birthday, Zander-bug!  We love you so very much and are so excited you are part of our family!  You have a fun little personality!
