Saturday was a busy, but exciting day for me. I started out the day by going to Moab for my first Bountiful Baskets training. My friend Heather and I decided that we wanted to get a site going here in Green River. It was kind of a scary thought--being in charge and having to be available for the delieveries every other Saturday, being in charge of all the volunteers, and what if no volunteers show up, etc. But in the end, we decided the pros outweighed the cons. Getting fresh fruits and vegetables for way cheaper than anywhere else for our families won out. :) After our first training, we were feeling much better. It's really not going to be that big of a deal. The ladies in Moab were very helpful and informative. I'm glad we went. :) For our next training we will be going to Ferron this coming Saturday as the Moab site is an every other week. (Green River will be also.) We decided that we wanted the training out of the way so that we could get this up and running a lot quicker. Heather is doing the final training in Richfield as she will already be there for vacation. We are very excited for this to get started. We are having a meeting on Saturday to explain to our neighbors what it is and get them excited about it also. We're creating quite the buzz here! :) I've had people calling and asking for info., people saying they will be at the meeting, people even stop by my house for info because they can't make the meeting. It's exciting! :)
After returning from Moab, I had just enough time to make my kiddos lunch before I headed out again. John and I had a date. :) We went with our friends, Keith and Kristi, to Grand Junction to watch Eclipse! I loved the movie! It was very good--they just keep getting better and better. I can't wait to watch it again. After the movie, we went and did a little shopping before having dinner. We ate at Famous Dave's BBQ. It was excellent, as always. We sat in our booth and visited for almost 2 hours, and it was so nice to have an adult conversation and spend a little time away from the kids. We don't do that often enough! :) We had a lot of fun, and returned home to our sleeping little kids. We paid the babysitter (which was not cheap, but so worth it), and sent her home. The kids had a great time without us as they always do when Kelsey comes over. She took them on a walk to the park, and played hide and go seek inside with them. It's nice to have a sitter that you know will play with your kids and you don't have to worry about them while you are gone. Makes it a lot easier to know they are in good hands! She also has a wonderful mother who is on standby should she need anything. Her mom came and helped her get the kids ready for bed, and settle down Eli when he wouldn't stop crying. All in all it was just a good day. :)
