Unfortunately right after I took the first picture, they turned around and went back to the starting point. :( Talk about a let down!! They finished the width of the road up to our sidewalk and then stopped for the day. Hopefully they'll get the rest of our road finished tomorrow!

Pavement!!
I know, funny thing to be excited over. We've been living in dust and mud for over a year now, so we were so excited to see the paver coming toward our house! The little boys loved watching it out our front windows.

Watching the big equipment
They have been doing road work on our street for more than a year now. (First to fix the sewer lines, and then to fix the mess the construction company made, and finally we are getting a new road!) John asked Zander to come in and get my camera so they could take some pictures of the action happening right in front of our house. The little boys were fascinated with all of the big machinery that was right there. Zander did a pretty good job of taking a couple of these pictures.
I just had to throw this one in because it is so cute! :)
We were not impressed with them last night, however, when they quit work at 5:30pm and left the chasm in front of our house, making it so we couldn't get in our driveway. We weren't too bothered by it until it started getting dark, and we watched several people drive down that side of the road because the construction company didn't close it or even block it off. One brilliant lady decided to try and turn around (right in front of our driveway) and got stuck. Her truck didn't have four wheel drive and she just kept spinning out. John and his Dad ended up pushing her out. Always some excitement.
While we were outside watching the road work, Micah picked up our Bocce (Bot-chee) set, came over to me and asked, "Mom, can we play Chewbacca?" I told him he had to go ask Dad. He went and asked John the same thing. We were both just cracking up! We sure love this kid. :)
