6th Grade Dance Festival

The 6th grade Dance Festival was held on March 31, 2015.  It was a couple of months later than in previous years, which made it nice.  As a 6th grader, Morgan danced in it this year.  John and Jodi's class were Zombies.  Mrs. Lindley choreographed their dances.  They performed to Thriller and the Electric Slide. So fun to see them excited and nervous to perform!
Mr. Cox photobombed Morgan and Mckenna.
Zombie poses!

The kids all had fun turning their t-shirts into Zombie-wear.  Who wouldn't want to cut up a t-shirt and put glow in the dark neon tape everywhere?

Morgan was also excited to get to see her Green River classmates. They participated in the Dance Festival as well.

They had black lights set up so they could turn the lights out. All the colorful neon tape on their clothes glowed in the black lights.  Pretty cool!
After all the schools performed their dances, they let all the 6th graders out on the floor to dance together.
Morgan reunited with her Green River peeps. They were glad to see each other!

6th Grade Dance Festival

John took his sixth grade class over to the other side of the district for the Dance Festival on January 16th, 2014.  I was not able to go watch, but I went to the high school and watched them practice a couple of days before the performance.  Since John was a two girls shy for the partner dance, Morgan and her friend, Jocelyn were asked to help out.  Morgan was partnered with Kaleb.

They also learned a line dance to "Cotton Eye Joe".

Morgan said she had a great time and can't wait to do it again next year when she's actually in 6th Grade!

6th Grade Dance Festival

On January 12th I was able to travel on the bus with Ian's class (and John's) over to the 6th Grade Dance Festival held at Emery High School in Castle Dale.
They danced to Party Anthem (from the Rio Soundtrack), Cotten Eye Joe, and Up by Shania Twain.

Lined up and ready to go!  The kids were so nervous.  It was fun to watch their expressions go from fear to confidence and enjoyment as the other 6th grades started clapping along to their music.  They started getting into it!  That was so fun to watch.
They all had a great time and said they wanted to do it again!
We went first, and then the kids were able to enjoy watching the other 6 schools perform.  Ian was excited to watch his cousin, Samantha, dance.  She's the cute girl in the bright pink shirt in the middle.

Great job 6th grades!  I enjoyed going watching you dance! :)
