Yesterday was John's 35th birthday. (He'll probally kill me for putting his age on here, but we're celebrating anyway!) It was a good day. Micah, Eli, and I took cupcakes into his school class at the end of the day, and then he came home after he had his meeting with his after school book club. We watched the road work happening outside for a while (see my earlier post), and then made a tastey dinner of Philly Cheese Steaks, one of John's favorites! John went and picked up his Mother for dinner (because of said road work), and then we played outside until John's dad was finished with Mutual and came for presents, and of course, cake and ice cream. Morgan gave him a very thoughtful present. She made him a bunch of coupons (watch a movie with me, play legos with Ian, go on a date with Mom, play a game with us, etc.) We felt bad for her, the last hour of school she came to John saying she had a headache, and then after school the fever started. She didn't want to eat anything, and her head hurt so bad, she couldn't even stand up and walk anywhere. She is feeling much better this morning after getting a blessing, so things are looking up now.
True to John's form, he was able to guess every what every present was after holding it while it was still in the wrapping. This one is some new clothes...(levis)
What DVD has come out that we've been wanting??.... (Prince of Persia)
This one is a gift card....(i tunes)
I think we stumped him on his new wallet, I don't remember what he guessed, but it was wrong.
This one is a bag of Candy...Reisen's (not quite, Snickers!)
He got several cards. Didn't have to guess what was in them. LOL Although, he did guess that Grandma Millett would stuff hers full of confetti, and he was right about that. Have to be careful with those cards from Grandma. :)
This one is something Mom made me...(Yep, a matchbox full of memories--wallet size pictures from his last birthday to this one.)
John with his German Chocolate Cake. He's not a fan of cake, but this one is his favorite and he gets it every year. We made it easy on him and used the "30" candle plus 5 more. Not that he would have had trouble blowing out thirty-five of them, Micah and Zander helped with these few. I didn't even get a picture of the cake all lit up! Eli also got in on the action and swiped some frosting before John was aware of what he was doing.
It was a good day. We finished the night snuggled up on the couch watching Ghost Hunters. I hope we made it special for him and he had a good day. I love you very much and am so glad you are a part of my life! Happy Birthday from your little gray haired wife. And by the way, I only have a couple. LOL
(For those of you in the dark, that last comment was thanks to my sister Nichole's facebook post to John: "Happy Birthday John!! You know you are getting old when: It takes a couple of tries to get over a speed bump. ...People call at 9 p.m. and ask, "Did I wake you?" The little gray-haired lady you help across the street is your wife.
Bwahahaha, I hope your laughing with me. Have a great birthday, We love you!")
HAHAHA I laughed all over again just reading your post. And then you put my facebook comment and I laughed again. :) Happy Birthday John!
