Our Ian bug turned 10 today--we're into double digits! :) I can't believe he's that old!
Morgan made a sign to hang up. She's always so thoughtful!
The kids picked out this Ninja set for Ian. He is definantly a boy and loves to play fight and wrestle and everything else that goes along with that.
Ian this past year has begun to love reading. He fell in love with the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. He wasn't sure he wanted to see the movie because movies are never as good as the books, but we got it for him anyway. :)
Grandpa and Grandma Hughes bought him a fishing pole and tackle box with all the goodies to go in it. Hope they are ready to take him fishing! :) LOL Those of you who know John know that he is not much of an outdoorsman plus, we own no other fishing equipment. They took him fishing a few weeks ago and he went with my parents while we were at reunion. He's pretty excited about it!
Ian has been wanting Lego Harry Potter for his Nintendo DS since he first saw a preview for it. We surprised him with it.
We also gave him this Electronic Lab Workbench. It was something John had around his classroom that he didn't need/want anymore. Ian has spent the afternoon building circuts. I think he is really enjoying playing with it. Plus, it's fueling his mind--maybe it will off set the video game we got him! LOL
Ian wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. (He must be my son!) We went with a treasure chest this year. I think it turned out really cute, and it was so simple! All the kids had to have some treasure with their cake and ice cream. :)
Ian is getting so fun to hang out with. We can play games with him that are more on our level, we can have little chats with him and have him respond and are able to have a real conversation. He has a great personality, and loves to make us laugh. I love his little giggle he gets when he is embarrassed, and I'm so glad he is ending his non-photogenic phase. He is growing up so fast! He's becoming our babysitter as we are able to leave the house for a few minutes here and there to run errands. He is becoming more and more independant. He knows what he likes and he knows who he is and he doesn't care what anyone else thinks about him. I love that. I am so glad he is a part of our family! Happy birthday our little Ian bug!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN! You are growing up into such a fine young man. Love ya bud!
ReplyDeleteWow! I cannot believe that he is so big. I remember when he was just a little guy. It has been too long since we have seen you guys.
