Happy Birthday to Me...

Well, I am officially 31 and "in" my 30's like the rest of my friends. (Thanks for the card, Danielle!) I had a pretty fantastic day. It was walk the track morning for exercise, so while I did that, John took the boys over to the baseball field and practiced batting. (Ian got 3 hits last game after one practice session with John--wa-hoo!--his first hits of the season.) After that, I came home and gave my boys haircuts--they were in desperate need of them, especially Eli! So, now they are all sporting their short summer do's.
Morgan has been asking for a girl's only afternoon in the scrapbook room, so that is exactly what we did. We picked out a chick flick (Enchanted) and settled in for the afternoon. Morgan made a letter "M" for her room, and I finished a frame I had given John for our anniversary a couple of weeks ago and just never found time to finish due to the craziness that was May. I love doing things with Morgan. She is just happy to be crafting with me and isn't very high maintenance. I feel like I can get something accomplished too! LOVE that! :)

We had an offer to watch the kids from a friend and her girls, so we took them up on it and John took me out to dinner. It was fun to get to go with just him. Love the kids and all, but when offered some "us" time, I'll never turn it down--we don't get to go on dates often enough. :) The kids had a blast, and after visiting for a bit, we came home and did presents and ice cream.
I got a colored picture from Micah of a bat,

Morgan gave me a rock that was shaped like a heart and a monkey picture,

some fun scrapbook stuff I had picked out

(as the kids were giving them to me, John told Micah to hand me one and tell me "he loved me more than diamonds" {they were rhinestones} and then Zander handed me some brads and said "I love you more than nails" and then handed me the oriental trading card ad from the box and said "so you can go on vacation"--Nothing says vacation like flamingos! Kids are so funny!)

John gave me a Willow tree figurine, and I got a new comforter set! I've been looking/wanting one for quite a while, so when we found this one we both liked, we decided to get it--my birthday was the perfect excuse! I was a little worried it wouldn't look good with our wall color, but I think it looks great and now my bedding actually matches the room!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes on facebook, and those of you who called. It was fun to chat! I had a great day coming "in" to my 30's! :)
