Schoutin Orthodontic's Wave Pool Party

Every year the orthodontist we go to for Ian does a Pool Party at the Wave Pool in Price.  It was a rainy and overcast day, but that didn't stop us!  They had snow cones, cotton candy, and cookies for the kids to munch on.

They did a quarter dive.  The kids each ended up with a few dollars.

We had so much fun swimming!  The kids love the wave pool.

Ian won the grand prize drawing--a Kindle Fire!  That boy is so lucky!

Pool Pictures

In the pictures I found, there were more of the us at the KOA Pool.  We had a blast swimming this summer! August 14th, 2013

The kids loved it when John came with us--they had a lot of fun getting thrown and flipped into the pool.

Micah started learning how to swim with his life jacket off this year.  He was getting pretty good before the summer was over!

Zander spent a lot of time getting warm on the cement.  Poor boy is all skin and bones! Lol
The KOA pool has a new slide.  The kids like to go down it into the water.  Even Lindey gave it a try this year.

Our little bathing beauty spent time getting her towel just right so she could lay on it.

At the Pool

Our local KOA opens their pool to the community for open swim four hours a day during the week since we don't have a public pool in town.  We bought a pool pass for the entire summer, and we spent a lot of time there--at least twice a week, and more if the kids could talk us into it.  It was about the only thing we could do outside during the day that wouldn't turn us into puddles of goo! It was nice that the kids were old enough this summer to be self-sufficient.  As long as their life jackets were on, they were good to go--and go they did! On July 18th, I decided to get some pictures of us at the pool.

Lindey would drive me crazy!  She wanted to be in the pool for a half hour or so and then she was done.  Wanted out and never wanted to go back in. The rest of our kids are little fishes, so this surprised me about her (and frustrated me as I was hoping to get some form of exercise out of being at the pool).  This was my view most of the time at the pool while the rest of the kids finished swimming.

We sure had a great time swimming this summer!

Swim Trip and Castle Valley Pageant

August 8th we were invited to go over to Orangeville and watch the Castle Valley Pageant. Suzy's husband and children are in it.  Our kids earned a swimming trip to the Emery County Aquatic center in Castle Dale by doing their chores this summer, so we decided to make a day of it.  Lindey was loving that she could walk down into the water without help from Mom and Dad.

Ian had a lot of fun with his cousin, Samantha that joined us at the pool. (Love that you can see Micah being a little fish in the background in all three pictures.  He really took to the water this summer!)
After spending the afternoon at Suzy's house, we went up the mountain to the pageant.  We went early enough that the kids could do all the pioneer village things they have set up before the show.  We took a wagon ride...
Ian and Rad took no time setting right up top with the driver.
We explored the teepee...
Swept out the pioneer houses (and peeked out the windows)....
even Lindey got in on that action...
the boys were so excited to climb on the roof of the dugout...

We tried some dutch oven potato soup...
watched the blacksmith work...
tried out some pioneer puzzle games...
tried some honey candy...
and ate fresh bread and honeybutter...yum!...
Morgan and Zander tried thier hand at milking a cow...
waved at Mom and Dad from on top of another house...
had some homemade ice cream...
and made our own ropes.
Whew!  It was so fun to watch the kids explore the village.
Ian let the ladies put a pioneer rag curler in his hair. Silly kid. :)
Morgan, Micah and Zander even got in a burro ride at the last minute.

It was such a fun day, and the kids were all tuckered out and slept the whole way home.  A few even fell asleep before the pageant was over--that was fun to get them down the mountain! lol :)  Thanks for inviting us, it was so good to see you and your family, Suzy!
