Halloween

It's Halloween! Time to trick-or-treat!  So glad we live in a cul-de-sac.  It should make it a bit easier this year. :)
Eli was Iron Man this year.  He sure loved his muscles!
Micah was a White Ninja.
Zander was Darth Vader. He didn't wear this to the school parade because he couldn't wear the mask. Lol.  You can't be Darth Vader without the mask.
Lindey was a sweet little kitty.

Ian was Batman.  He went trick or treating with Riata and Samantha (the ghost).
Morgan was a witch, and spent the evening with McKenna.  They went trick or treating in Ferron (McKenna has family there) and then came back and went around our neighborhood.  They had a great time!

Carving Pumpkins

We decided that we'd better get to carving pumpkins if they were going to be ready to be lit up for Halloween night.  Since Halloween fell on a Saturday, it saved our bacon this year!  We didn't have a lot of time the week leading up to it, so we spent the afternoon carving.
Zander's pumpkin that he picked out was full of sprouting seeds!  We've never seen anything like that before.  It was pretty cool!

Crazy stuff right there!
It was nice that this year the kids are getting a little older and can handle more on their own. I only really had to help Eli and Lindey, and supervised or did touch up work on the other kid's pumpkins.

Zander carved his own face design.

Morgan found a squirrel! Right up her alley. :)
Micah carved one of the Teen Titans.  He was pretty excited about it.
Lindey's little pumpkin turned into a sweet kitty cat.
We had a great time carving, and I, personally, am glad that's done! Whew! It's quite a project to get all 6 kid's pumpkins carved.

Costume Parade

The school's Costume Parade was on Oct. 30, 2014.  Since it was held in the afternoon, the Kindergarteners didn't have to participate, but Eli sure wanted to!  He was Iron Man
Micah was a white ninja this year.

Zander went as a baseball player.

John went as superman.  I made him a cape that matched his sweatshirt.

Morgan was a witch this year. Lindey walked with Morgan.
Eli flexing his muscles. LOL  I love this kid.
Eli's kindergarten teacher, Angie Barton, was Wonder woman.  She pulled her son in the wagon.
Micah's 2nd grade teacher, Heather Atwood, was a football player.
Zander's 4th grade teacher, Kari Alton, was a referee.
John's 6th grade class.
John and Jody Cox--the 6th grade duo.  They make a great team!
Here is the entire school.  How awesome is that!?!
Morgan and her friend, McKenna Bennett.

It was a lot of fun, and I loved watching the kids in the parade!

Trunk or Treating

My friend, Heather, helped to organize a trunk or treat for Green River this year.  We have never done it before, and were excited to give it a try this year.  There was actually a really good turn out!  The parking lot of the Senior Citizen's Center was full on one side!  They also set up a photo booth for pictures.  This year for Halloween, Ian was a scary dude in a mask.
Morgan was a witch.
Zander was Darth Vader--he lost his mask somewhere in the house before we left home. :)
Micah was a white ninja.
Eli was Iron Man.
and Lindey was a butterfly.
Getting all six kids to look the same direction for a picture is almost impossible. lol  Enjoy the few that we got!

We had a great time trunk-or-treating and afterwards did a little trick-or-treating to the neighbors and Grandma.  I think the kids got the most Halloween candy they've ever gotten before!  They were so excited! I'm so glad that this was put together--thank you to those that did it!  I think it should become a yearly tradition here.  So much fun! :) October 31, 2013

Halloween Cookies

Morgan asked if we could decorate sugar cookies for Halloween.  We haven't done this in a while, so I gave in and helped her make some cookies, and later that evening, the kids went to work.

Everyone had a fun time and they were a tasty Halloween treat!  Great idea, sis! October 17, 2013
