Scrapbook USA

I attended the Scrapbook Expo with my girls again this year.  We love our girl's weekend--it's becoming something of a tradition. :)  My mom usually joins us, and we meet up with these lovely ladies! This is one of my best friends, Kelly Perry. I just love her to pieces.  I love that we can pick up where we left off like we just talked that morning.

Her family is so great.  This is her sister Cicely. 

We had to get a picture of Morgan with us.  We were in the same ward as Kelly when we lived in Pleasant Grove when Morgan was teeny tiny.  Kelly used to watch her for me and would teach her sign language to get jelly beans.  ("More Candy Please!") Kelly has a deaf sister, so she is proficient! 

My mom, Me, and my girls. We have so much fun!  Love spending this time with Mom every year.  It doesn't happen often enough. Glad we enjoy the same hobbies!

Lindey refused to stand by Elsa and Sleeping Beauty for a picture, even though she was excited to see them.  She wouldn't even stand with Morgan for a picture!  We made Morgan stand by herself instead.  She was thrilled. Lol

Scrapbook USA

Scrapbook USA happened on March 28th, and Morgan was so excited that there was no school that day!  We made it a girl's weekend and met my Mom.  We drove up that morning and drove into this wall of clouds.  It was pretty amazing to see!  And yes, it was snowing once we got inside.  It was pretty crazy!

We left early enough that I just put Lindey in the car in her jammies.  She slept through the canyon--whew! No carsickness to worry about on this trip. Wahoo!

Morgan joined the dance contest.  She didn't last the entire time, but once she got into it she had a lot of fun.

I got an email the week before the show from one of the companies I buy die cuts from (It's Cheaper Than Therapy).  They were asking for volunteers to demonstrate die cuts.  I replied and asked for more information.  Long story short, I demonstrated die cuts for them and had a blast!!  I figured I was going to be there all day anyway, and might as well spend a few hours and make some money to spend. :)  Maria was very generous and paid for my lunch, my time, and gave me a great 45% off discount on any die cuts I wanted to purchase.  It was awesome!!  My girls hung out with me until Grandma showed up.  Maria put Morgan to work showing people in the booth different samples.  Morgan did great showing people where the dies were located for the samples she had. 

 Maria asked Morgan what her favorite die cut was and Morgan showed her the little baby crib.  She gave it to her for FREE for helping!! It's a $40.00 die cut!  Like I said, she was incredible to work for, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. :)

This something I think I may need to make.  She had an old book that she had folded all the pages in half back on themselves.  It made the book lay open on the table and the pages fanned out on top.  She used it for holding paper scraps!  It was so cool!

We forgot to take pictures of my mom and I, but we sure had a lot of fun.  We even got to see my friend Kelly and her family.  I can't wait until next year!! :)

Scrapbook USA 2013

March 22nd, I met up with my mom again for Scrapbook USA.  Those in charge are changing when they hold the show.  They are going from twice a year, to once a year.  We knew if we didn't attend we wouldn't be able to go until next March.  A little extra incentive to make it happen. :) Morgan was out of school, so we made it a girl's weekend and drug Lindey along with us.  I love spending time with my Mom doing something we both love.

Morgan is a fun little travel companion.  We have some good chats. She also loves the shopping part, and finding things she can scrapbook with as well.  She is definantly my daughter.  She reminds me a lot of myself when I was younger. :)   Lindey was well behaved again this time too!  Especially good since she was having major allergies and couldn't hardly breathe!  Couldn't have asked for a better time with my girls.

Since I forgot to take a picture of my mom and I last time we got together for Scrapbook USA, I made sure we got one this time. :)

We were also able to see my friend, Kelly and her family this go-around.  She was my best friend when we lived in Pleasant Grove and Orem.  I love that we can pick up as if we still lived close to each other and talk all the time.  Lindey was taken with Kelly's oldest daughter, Tiana.  She made a good little friend! :)

I don't think Kelly and I have had our picture taken together since I was living in Pleasant Grove. (That's been 10+ years!) I needed a new one to update my friends board in my scrapbook room. It turned out great!  I love this girl!

 We spent the night at my Aunt Roberta and Uncle Keith's house.  Lindey was having a hard time settling down.  This is how I found them when I came out of the bathroom from getting ready for bed.  Grandma was reading them stories. :)  What a great Grandma.  I asked her where she got the book and she said, I just had it in my room.  So cute!  

We spent Saturday doing some shopping around Utah County.  It was a fun weekend.  Thanks for meeting up with us Mom!  I love you! Until next year...

Girl's Weekend

March 23rd and 24th we did girls weekend.  My sister Cassy is moving to Kansas (KANSAS!!) so her husband can go to Medical School.  We wanted to do something together before she moved on us.  Scrapbook USA was this weekend, so we decided since I'd be coming out for that, we'd all get together as well.  My sister Nichole couldn't make it (she lives in Pennsylvania) so we skyped with her for a while that night.  It was fun--doesn't she look good!?  I miss her.

My three other sisters, and my mom--skyping with Nichole.  We had all just got back to Cassy's house from the Scrapbook expo, well, my mom and Cassy and I--Adrienne had been Easter dress shopping, and Jennie worked and had Dr. appointments for her kiddos, so she met up with us.  We were feeding the babies, just chatting and relaxing.  It was fun.  We also made centerpieces for my brother's wedding until 2am and got a little slap happy I'm afraid.  Good times!

At the scrapbook expo they had a booth that had nail polish pens.  (I know, it was a scrapbook expo, but they are getting more and more of the "other" booths there.)  This one was kind of fun.  The girl working the booth painted our nails to show us what the pens would do.  Cassy got a Hawaiin flower, I got the 3 flowers and dragonfly, Morgan got a ladybug, and Talynn got a watermelon. (Sorry about the blurry picture.)

I brought Talynn, Morgan's best friend, with us to girl's weekend.  She is such a cute girl, and it wasn't any trouble at all.  She fits right into our family.  We couldn't go to girl's weekend and not get a picture of the 3 of us.  We took several to get one that looked good.  I was holding my iPod and Talynn had to push the button to take the picture.  We were laughing pretty good by the time we got this one.

Lindey came with us as well.  She looked so cute sleeping with her legs crossed that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap a couple shots.  She was exhausted by the time we made it back to Cassy's.  She didn't nap well because of all the noise at the expo.

I did the girl's hair the same way before we went to the expo and while there I got so many compliments on how cute my twins were. LOL  My friend Kelly's daughter, Tiana, bought the girl's feathered earrings.  Aren't they cute?  They also each came home with a new fuzzy friend. :)

The trip home took FOREVER!  Not even kidding.  We left Syracuse at 1:00pm, We saw 5 accidents and passed through several spots of construction.   We stopped for 5 minutes at Distribution, 15 minutes at Sam's Club, and an hour and a half at Wal-Mart.  We still didn't make it home until 8:00pm.  I felt like we had driven from Idaho! lol  We made it home safe and sound, and the girls can't wait to do it again sometime!  Thanks for the trip girls!

Scrapbook USA

On Friday, Morgan and I headed out for sister's day (with my sisters).  Morgan didn't have school--it was a comp day for parent/teacher conferences, so she was able to go with me this time.  It's been a while since we've done one of these, so we were excited.  Two of my sisters were able to meet us, Cassy, and Jennie. I had every intention of taking a bunch of fun photos since this would be Morgan's first time going, but my pregnant brain was working and I forgot.  I did have Cassy take a picture of Morgan and I, and I think it turned out so cute!  Thanks, Cassy! :)

Cassy's husband, Reed, had asked if we had a picture together, which we did not, so he took one for us.  Cassy and I were laughing as he zoomed in on our pregnant bellies and remarked, "Our first cousin's picture together." (We are due 3 weeks apart. LOL)

Thanks for a good time and letting us stay! :)  It was a lot of fun.  Morgan is already asking when we can do it again!
