Easter

April 20th was Easter Sunday.  The kids always love waking up to see what is in their baskets from the Easter Bunny.

When Ian and Morgan woke up Lindey, they said, "Come on, Lu! The Easter Bunny came!" This did not sit well with her and she almost started crying.  She did NOT want to come see what he brought her. LOL (She's had a rough few days with people in Animal costumes.  First McGruff at the Safety Fair and then the Easter Bunny at the Park for the Community Easter Egg Hunt. They freak her out a bit--the thought of the Easter Bunny in our house really freaked her out! Lol)
Morgan was excited to get a jump rope (she and her friends have been doing this at school during recess recently) and some paint by number pictures.

Ian loved his Bacon flavored sunflower seeds--does the Easter Bunny know him, or what?
Zander got a flying saucer and both he and Ian got little bats and balls to play their made up Ninja game outside.
Once Lindey discovered that the Easter bunny was not still in our house, she warmed right up to her basket.  Who doesn't like candy for breakfast on Easter morning?
Eli got a new car and some bubbles in his basket.

Micah and the girls got some sidewalk chalk to use.  They were all very excited about their gifts. :)
Happy Easter!

4th Grade Easter Party

I volunteered to help with Morgan's 4th grade class Easter party this year.  A couple of the games I came up with were the egg on the spoon relay using giant eggs and wooden spoons. This was much harder than it looks!  Those plastic eggs were sure slippery on the spoons.
We also played "Draw a Bunny".  You had to roll the dice, and then draw the corresponding part to the bunny.  There were some pretty funny looking rabbits being drawn!  The kids loved this!  We had a lot of rabbits that looked more like mice or cats.  They didn't get the ears quite long enough.  It was pretty funny!
The game that won out as the favorite was the throwing of "cottontails" aka cheeseballs, and getting them to stick onto the heads of four of the kids.  Danielle Holyoak was the other mom that helped me with the party.  She brought all the stuff for this game.  Morgan was one of the kids that volunteered to sit in a chair. (They had no idea what they were volunteering for--ha ha!)
Morgan, Talynn, and Lilly looking nervous. :)
Getting the shaving cream on their heads.
I think the kids throwing the cottontails had just as much fun.  Morgan even tried to catch some in her mouth!  Silly girl.
Don't they look like something from an alien planet?
A little more than just cottonballs made their way onto their heads!  It was a fun party!  Danielle and I have children in two of the same classes, so we do parties together every year in one class or another.  She always has some fun ideas that the kids haven't done before.  They always have a great time!  March 27th, 2013.

Grass Head

Zander grew a little grass head in first grade.  He had so much fun with it!  I knew he would love this cute little ducky grass head he got in his Easter basket this year.  It didn't take it long to start growing! Only four days! 4/4/13

Easter 2013

As Grandma Millett always does, she sent the kids a little something for this holiday.  It came a few days before Easter, and the kids were excited about their Bunny Bait.  It was a delicious!
The kids are anxiously awaiting to see what is in their baskets.
Eli was excited about everything in his basket.  He was jumping up and down with each new thing.
Morgan checking out her loot.
Ian reading the jokes on his pen. He was pretty excited about his neck pillow.
More Eli excitement!  Sixlets!! Wahoo!!
Zander received a grass head.  He had one from school earlier in the year and loved it.
Micah got some playdough and was super pleased.

Lindey wasn't quite sure what to think about Easter.  She did enjoy the candy--whether it was out of her basket or not. lol
That night we did our annual Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt.  The is becoming something the kids look forward to.  We have fun with it, and let the kids hide the eggs for us to hunt as well.
The kids love counting the eggs to see if they have all been found.  (We love that it doesn't add more treats in the eggs, and its just hunting the eggs for the fun of it!)
Happy Hunting and Happy Easter!

Easter Sunday--April 24th

The morning began with a few small gifts from the Easter Bunny.

The kids were all excited to get a new sprinkler to run through.  They were looking forward to trying it out.
I don't do "Easter Clothes" very often.  I had them every year growing up.  My grandma used to make my 4 sisters and I matching dresses.  I always loved it. It's kind of expensive for us, but decided to do it this year for the kids anyway.  The kids were all very excited to wear them to church.
